HVAC, Inc project managers Terry Steele and Joe Wendtland recently completed an intensive project management training course at the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Education Foundation in Landowne, VA.
The four-day, 40-hour Essentials of Project Management course is geared towards subcontractors and includes focused training on best practices in preconstruction planning, prefabrication, scheduling, project billing and cash flow.
Wendtland, who has been with HVAC for less than a year but has a background in military contracting, said one week after the training, he is already putting what he learned into practice to help HVAC’s project teams work smoother, faster and more efficiently.
“Already this week I’ve come back and tried to do things differently,” he said. “I’ve taken the information straight from the classroom, to real world business application. It’s already helping.”
